more from the weekend in the hills of the cascades
we had a great weekend dispite lucas' chicken issues.
here's the view (my boy was doing some sort of investigation of the rock wall)
this morning we left beautiful wenatachee (apple capital of the world) for leavenworth. which is along highway 2.
but we had to stop & check out the craft warehouse & the farmers market at the riverfront park.

then onto leavenworth!
being part german, leavenworth is a special place to me. when i was little my parents would drive us to this area and we'd get crates of apples (from wenatachee), go to cashmere to pick up some fresh applets & cotlets and stop and eat apple turnovers & other goodies in leavenworth. leavenworth is an amazing little village that feels like it should be in germany somewhere. i just love it.
we enjoyed the alp horn & acordian today!
the drive home on highway 2 is beautiful this time of the year. the pretty autumn coloured leaves & the natural beauty of the rivers. i've driven it many times but not recently since my brother moved to michigan.
and there is a chumstick hwy!!!
