Weekend recap & local interests...(xpost)

Dec 17, 2007 17:33

So Rummage did happen this weekend. There was a threat of it not happening due to the sudden closure of the Crocodile Cafe.
I however did not vend at the alternate location. I checked my email casually as I normally do on a weekend. (I.E. I didn't get a call but an email about the change...) Ce st' la vie. But I am glad that it did happen because I know a couple vendors were in need of this event.

I did however vend at Swank. It was my first time vending at this show which is partially coordinated by a lovely gal who makes amazing cards from vintage wallpaper. www.sydneydesigns.com
I didn't take too many pictures but I have a few that I uploaded onto my Flickr.
For the first time at a craft show I was next to Sam Trout. He's the creator IHR but for those rollergirl fans out there- he is the artist behind the Rat City Rollergirls Sockit Wench logo.
He's a nice guy & makes amazing designs. I know lots of my homies will like his style of prints on his tshirts. Go check him out!

Speaking of rad shirts- Karl was there but he was "shirtless". He was armed with his art only. Because he's a big o'l shirt pimp- and his shirts are rad.

The fabu- Knelow sisters where in tha house:

I love their lotions!!! www.knelowcosmetics.com

I met a "new to me" crafter- Candle Jim of Kaleidoscope Candles.

I am a self professed candle obsessor/collector. And by far his candles are THE BEST smelling candles ever. I highly recommend the spiced plum.

And last but not least guess who the Swank gals put me next to...

My dear crafty pal Anna (of Anna Perrone Designs)She was my long time crafty neighbor & cohort of backroom entertainment & giggles at i heart rummage. I conveniently picked up a couple pairs of earrings. ^_^
For you locals- you can find both Anna & Jim at the Sunday Fremont Market.

Here's a shot of my table:

My number one (daughter Jina) was my helper/slave at this event. Thanks Ji you're the coolest. Although she did milk me out of some money for stuff... But I am proud that she sees the coolness of things handmade.

It was a nice show. It wasn't anything like our mega craftextravaganza that is UCU. But it was a great mix of people and nice that it was on the eastside of Seattle.

I just have to mention a couple other vendors that were at the event.

Estrella Soap- Everyone loves his soap!!! Its awesome, vegan & oh so good. Even the people at Fireworks love it! Word on the street said that he got picked up by them.

Kim- Kimberly Sun Designs. She puts squirrels on belts...need I say more?

Maluhia- She & I finally met (we're both Filipina) and have been online crafty admirers of each other for a little bit. She makes the cutest little bags. Most if not all of her fabric is super "kawaii" cute Japanese print fabrics. She's getting married this Saturday so congrats to her!!!

& Revival Ink- I love that they not only promote Eco-friendly stuffs (with info & with their products) but their hoodies are super cute too.

So this is totally out of place but I caught this today via Seattlest. But the PI put out a top ten list of Seattle's most cited restaurants for failing health checks. I've only eaten at two of those (Wild Ginger & Cilantro's). Ewwww....
