My Father
Today is the 37th Anniversary of my father's death. He was 49 years old when he died. My oldest sister turned 16 the following day. My mother was 42 and left with 7 children ages 15-6. She did a great job raising us. We lived by the example both of my parents set for us. My father was not only an amazing father, he took time to coach and tutor other children in the community. He was a good friend, brother, uncle and neighbor. Born and raised a Greek Orthodox, he married a Catholic and raised his children with respect for all religious beliefs. His funeral was in a Catholic church with SIX priest on the alter. Pretty amazing. That is how much he touch and affected the people he met.
I know that he is proud of us, and I will always be proud of him. I feel BLESSED to have had him in my life. Seven years together and I wouldn't trade a moment. I love and miss you, Dad.
