Half a year later....

Jul 25, 2008 15:56

Alrighty then, so it's been almost half a year since i last wrote here.

I've been busy.

Thought it might be a good chance to update on things, even if a lot of it may be in cliff-note form:

-Not at Bopston Pizza anymore. Quit. Now working at Sailor Hagar's Pub off of 1st and Lonsdale since end of March.

-Sailor Hagar's has been closed for Renovations for the entire month of July, which is annoying, to say the least. Opens again the day before i head up to the Okanagan for 2 weeks as per usual.

-Chor Leoni Bard/Summer Concert(s) went very well. Space theme. Got costumes from Stargate for the 2nd half. 8 Jaffa, as well as 'Jaffa High Council' robes. Very cool. Staff weapons and Zats. Geekd out. Talked to the costume folk and ended up getting some official crew swag from them. toques and official arm badges from both SG1 and Atlantis. More geekage. May get a tour of the Atlantis set eventually. Awesome concerts, and an awesome opportunity.

-Chor Leoni went to the Czech Republic for the first 2 weeks of July. Didn't go. Rest of my family did. Gave me a chance to take care of the house and try living on my own for 2 weeks. Quite the experience. Walked the dog every day. Took care of him and the cat.

-Jewel is now a year old, or just near it. Griffin is now 10 months, it's crazy how much he's grown. Still a puppy though by all accounts.

-School went well. Passed all my courses. Not just scraping by either. Did very well in all classes. Looking forward to this comign year, though im sure the RESPs are going to run out so i'll have to start using my own cash. No worries, i have saved up enough for at least the next 2 years, so i'm good to go.

-Got my L back. Might take my N test while up in the okanagan. We shall see.

-Took some yoga classes this month. Interesting stuff.

-This summer has been quite productive. I haven't been sitting around just lounging about, which is always good. Been keeping in contact with many friends. As much as possible anyways. There are some i would like to see/hang out with mroe than i have so far, but there's still time to work at that:p

-Running clinics are still a Tuesday night thing. Summer sessions right now. Very intensive, but worth it. Going to the gym 3 times a week, which is good. Making use of my membership for the community center. Been going with Roger and MAtt, which is good because it's extra motivation for the 3 of us to get up there.

-Been keeping with my workout regimen since the SunRun quite successfully. 6 times a week with Sunday relaxing:p.

-SunRun itself was quite good. 42:37 for the 10k, which is a personal best! Of course this was back in April and i've been continuing running since, so who knows what my time would be now. Would be interesting to know.

-What else...Been writing/arranging some music, as well as getting some new cds and suchlike. Arranged a tune or 2 for the Eight Deadlies (Eight Deadly Sins - vocal octet im in with other friends). Currently rehearsing them. We sang O Canada at the Canada Day celebrations at Waterfront Park at the beginning of the month, whihc was fun. Spent a good aprt of the day down there ahnging out with others. Good times.

-Ah yes, the Musical has come and gone. It's weird to think that it is over after it was being planned for such a long time. It went quite well, all things considered. 2 shows, both of which were good. We also went around to 2 of the feeder schools and did a shorter version there before the shows at Seycove. It helped us practice, as well as work on technical problems. Stressful. Had the wrap party afterwards, got a thankyou from the students and the other adults who helped organize it. Many thanks to them, because otherwise i would not have been able to pull it off. We had about 12-13 students. Flet quite weird after it happened because i didn't quite know what to do with the time that had opened up now that rehearsals and shows had finished. It was quite the project, and a great experience. I wonder if i'll do it again in 2 years..well...one and a half now. I wont forget it. I'm rather proud.

-Been single for lets see...9 months now. Just taking it easy and letting things happen. there are one or 2 people who i think could become potential relationships, but i'll take it easy, i dont want to rush into anything.

-I can't wait for September in many respects. School-wise there are some classes i am looking forward to, and there are people coming to Cap that are friends, so that'll be good. Choirs will start up again, which i am very much looking forward to. I'm hoping to take part in some organized sports again. I miss soccer. But for now i am looking forward to going to Oliver in a week! Can't wait. Been taking golf lessons so i dont suck in the tournament as much as last year, haha. We'll see how that goes. Mainly just looking forward to being at Tuc-el-nuit (Lakeside Resort) and relaxing.

-Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along-Blog!!! If you don't know what it is find out and watch it. Hilarity.

-Went to the fireworks two nights ago. Those were good. Spent some time last night hanging out with Kristina and catching up. Enjoyed that; it was good to hang out and chat, even if a lot of it was going off in random tangents. No problem with that.

-Was Lynn's birthday yesterday. Phoned to wish happy birthday and wasn't home, so left a message. Was hoping to at least hang out for a little while during the day considering the planned river rafting party was cancelled. Oh well, i guess i will hopefully see her on Sunday and chat then.

I think that's pretty much it for now. Either way i am going to stop now and rest my hands from all the typing. If anything happens in the next few days or i remember anything else i will type again, but until then...

Ciao for now,
-Noel
