Picpost -- Ninja Monkey: The Magic Flute, Patalla
Because I can't seem to keep her character design consistent, I've been working a bit on drawings of Patalla, who is the "damsel in distress" in the Ninja Monkey comic on which I'm working right now. I'll probably be posting more studies based on this, but for now:
Patalla is dog tribe and she lives on a small mountainside plantation with her mother and little brother. One day, she's kidnapped by a dragon and carried away to the Dragon Palace in the swamp. Her little brother determines to take the family treasure and rescue her.
I wanted to make Patalla pretty but approachable. At first I wanted to make her family a bunch of Chinese Crested, but decided against it (though I may still try to incorporate one). For Patalla, I went with something more like a Pekingese. Shih tzu was also an option, but they don't exhibit the right air.
