There was quite a bit of woo and wtf over the weekend! Not the bad sort, mind, but stuff I'd really like to share with you all. So, pardon my blogging. Here we go:
Let's begin with the most beneficial.
finnimon, whom some of you may know for
excellent art and
super-cheap commission prices (read: order cheap arts from finni you won't be let down! < /pimp >), has posted a detailed lineart tutorial on how to achieve painstakingly smooth lines in digital drawing. Even if you don't plan to follow it, read the tutorial. You may pick up some helpful tips on keyboard shortcuts!
http://kologaria.com/linetut/ On the subject of Finni, please refer to
Momo's revenge as it is sweet and makes :3 faces at you. NOT WORKSAFE. But very satisfying.
Also from the
DOe, some
Division 12 love. <--- A rare (for me) 2 hour+ oekaki. Akon (who needs more fanlove in general), Mayuri, and Nemu. All are depicted in three different styles. I think this was as much an exercise for me as idle entertainment on a saturday afternoon.
Now here's entertainment! Sunday night I made stir-fry and since I didn't want the kitchen to be swelteringly hot, I asked Bo to hit up the local Chinese restaurant for some rice and appetizers. Included, of course, with these were some fortune cookies.
Bo pulls the fortune of the year out of here! WTF? Mom and I pulled average fortunes, but Bo's... I thought only
hidaman pulled fortunes like that! You long to see the pyramids of Egypt. Wooo~
:D HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA~ Those Chinese girls may be cute now, but just you wait. Soon, they'll just grow up to be sasspots like lil miss
B-chan.
If you haven't been watching
Dane Cook's Tourgasm, you missed out on an awesome episode last night. Not only did they have a go cart rally during which Dane Cook was sent to the boo box, but they were crashing SEGWAYS! Yes, I take grim satsifaction in watching those damn things spin out on the pavement.
It's not unusual to see people posting their life on the web for all to see. Some reveal more about themselves than others. Then some just lay it all out for everyone to see.
One such brave man is looking to turn his life around from seemingly insurmountable debt, help out his family, and even write a book about it in the process. Though he has a long way to go, he's trying to document each step in his journal. This is a very real peek into a mature man's life. It seems so different from what I'm used to seeing on LJ and I wanted to pass on his message.
Well, hell, I ruined the effect of this entire blog by having something meaningful to post.
Oh yeah! And to those of you who are VIP members at
Vistaprint (i.e. those who've actually made a purchase there rather than just hitting them up for free business cards), they're having a Semi Annual sale with a whole bunch of free goodies! Also, custom uploads and logos are 1/2 price, which really makes it worthwhile. Premium Business Cards, Note Pads, Stamps, Magenets, and Return Address Labels all free. Check it out when you have a chance.
I need to get back to arts.
