Got my test results back over the weekend. They left a message on my answering machine.
HBA1C: 8.4
Eight point fucking four. Under 6.5 is good.
They said my kidneys had 'started to flare up', too. I'm not sure what exactly they meant by 'flare up', except I do know this.
I'm going to call and try to get more information. Needless to say, I'm a little freaked out, although it did sound like whatever the problem was, they felt it was reversible if I keep my blood glucose under control from no
w on.
ETA: Just keeps getting better and better. They want to put me on medication for my kidneys when I go back in 3 months. The lady in the lab was trying to be reassuring, said the kidney problems were very slow moving so I didn't need to come back in sooner, but...yeah. Um. Kidney damage.
