My Day (and the rest of my next two years) By Brie Wamsley

Today I woke up at 7:30 am covered in bright red sheets, rolled up with four thin blankets and cuddled up with one shedding two-faced tabby cat. I pushed him carefully to the bottom left edge of the bed and stepped down my ladder a few steps till I could swing Mr. Shedder over my right shoulder and spring to the ground. Mr. Shedder arches his back and makes some noise at me then saunters off forgetting/not caring I exist any longer (sounds like a pattern).
Now it's 7:45 according to the cable box which has not been working correctly - especially when Tivo-ing Gilmore Girls. In the shower I finish all cleansing activities in 15 minutes and use the next 15-30 minutes sitting in the bath tub letting the burning water pound on my body. (I know I need to get out of the bathroom but nothing compares to the comfort of my adult pseudo womb).
I leave the water running when I get out of the shower and change because I'm very paranoid about people busting in on me in the bathroom.
Back in my bedroom/closet I turned up my 'It's Over' mix on Itunes and dried my hair. Then I put on essential eye make up and straightened the wavy gross parts of my hair that survived through the blow drying.
I shut down my computer and started putting on layers starting with my new red coat, Ipod earphones, white cap, and snow gloves. I turn on the 'It's Over' mix on my Ipod and skipped out the door.
My eyes start to water from the cold wind by the time I get to the Subway cave and I wait about 25 minutes for the right G train to arrive. Then five stops later plus one shuttle train I transfer to the L bypassing the big sign that says "Your Story". Then four stops later in Union square, I transfer to the 4 train and quickly tansfer again at 42st Grand central to the 6 train. Energized and slightly excited I used my bike muscles to make it to the top of the staircases before any one else.
After I half circled through the snow door I beelined for the escalators (mind you, I was thinking about the time my non-vegan little steve madden's got caught in the teeth of this very mechanical monster).
Up(2nd floor), up(third floor), up (fourth floor) and away to my first class.

Here I took notes about the books I need and the chapter's this semester I will read. I started to write down exam times and papers due in my weekly planner. Then I left myself a secret note on January 1st, 2006.
I sat in this large familiar auditorium and absorbed the teachers first words. I reminded myself to be dedicated and remembered how much I really do like school.
I peered around the room and caught some cute older boys eyes then thought joyously to myself:
Fuck Boys.

Time for Genetics and Evolution.
