It's later than he'd like, but he knew it would be. Dinner's warm in the oven, still, but another half hour and he'll just make her a plate and put it all away in the fridge.
Since talking with Archie, Bernard's been both relieved and even more on edge; the kids started to pick it up, and were unusually quiet and clingy at bedtime. So was he, to be honest.
He's in the living room, half-lying on the couch, reading page 337 of Nymphadora's old potions textbook over and over again, the words swimming in front of his eyes.
Remember to keep an eye on your son.
A shiver goes through him, and he stands, dropping his book and walks to Anthony's room.

After a few moments, he closes the door behind him and peeks in at Sunny. All he can see of her is a lock of blonde hair peeking out from beneath Ellie and Hiss, but that's enough. It has to be enough.
