"Well. I think she's finally conked out."

Nymphadora's shoving clean towels and sheets into the linen closet with some amount of force, her anger showing now that the babies are asleep. "Son of a bitch."

"Got it in one." He stills her hands. "She's all right. And she will be all right."

"I know, I just..." A sigh, and she thumps her head down on his shoulder. "He's such an idiot. How did every single adult in her world get fooled by that-- that ridiculous excuse for a human being?"

"Because when it comes down to it, people are stupid and trusting and take an adult's word over a child's nine times out of ten." He drops a kiss on her cheek. "But we know better because we know her, and she's not a liar."
