ahh I get what you mean. I had to read it for English this year. I don't really think it's like BEST BOOK I EVER READ or anything like that (or really even worth reading again right now), but in a way it had a lot of good points I guess.

Yeah, I had to read it for English also, I just didn't find it inspiring and I find Dickens very boring to read.

When a piece of literature has been revered over three centuries, then you mustn't be looking from the right perspective if you "just don't understand why everyone thinks it's soooooo great".

It's a fucking brilliant book: whiney kids like you are only perpetuating Western society's belief that teenagers can't appreciate art.

You're one to talk: you don't think your initial reply to this post was condescending?

I for one thought it was downright rude to act as if she were deranged for happening to like something that you didn't - especially something that clearly deserves merit.

And the two of you ganging up on her so she would accept your viewpoint? I think that's a good example of what you Americans would call "lame".
