[Her voice grows softer, she seems worried, and upset] The scent...it's gone...she must be somewhere else...did I leave her somehow?

But how could I leave the forest with the army surrounding us?

She was the first. There's a legend in my world that a girl will come from another world when the kingdom is on the verge of collapse.

A stupid legend was what we all thought, until she came.

... I don't understand why the bad ones always have to die in fairy tales. I used to think it was because it was what they deserved, but now I'm not so sure. Sometimes... sometimes they have reasons for doing what they did, even though they might be wrong. Is it really fair to say they deserve to die because of that?

She tried to run away once thinking she could convince this person. I stopped her. Even if she was going in the right direction, it would have accomplished nothing, and may have made things worse.

I can see why you two are friends.

I stopped her because all that would have happened was she would have been used as a hostage at best.

The more likely result was the death of both of us.

I'll always do what I think is best for her.

I'm not so sure about that, but if we can ever return to my world, she's got me and the others who will keep her safe from all those who think we are there to cause disaster.
