((OOC Timeline Thread))

((I've been trying to work out a sensible timeline, mostly based on fanfic and guesswork and events yoinked out of thin air for RP reasons... anyhow, here's the attempt so far. If anyone has suggestions/ideas/kumquat, this is the thread for it

2040 - Third World War ends. World Peace comes about as part of a frantic attempt at species survival. A group of scientists referred to as 'Second Rainbow' attempt to undo some of the damage. Dr. Light and Dr. Wily were both part of this group.

2067 - Second Rainbow has been disbanded, the most pressing work completed. Working in secret, Dr. Light and Dr. Wily create the first Robot Master. DRN000, or Blues, could not be told apart from a human boy of thirteen or fourteen. When the project was revealed, there was a lot of public disagreement over whether or not Robot Masters would be safe, even with the Three Laws that were already legal requirement in all robots.

2068 - Blues continues to develop in unexpected ways, surprising Dr. Light and Dr. Wily when he manages to break Second Law and start to disobey them on occasion. They didn't report this, knowing it would lead to panic and most likely a UN order to have Blues destroyed.
They also attempted to prevent a 'Machine Menace Act' from passing that year. They didn't succeed, and it became law, placing further restrictions on the design of any future Robot Masters

2069 - Tests of a new matter teleporter go haywire, catching both Blues and Dr. Wily in an overload. Blues is lost without a trace, and eventually presumed destroyed. Dr. Wily was left behind, and for a while seemed unharmed. However it would later be discovered that teleportation disrupts electrical signals in organic brains, eventually leading to insanity.

2070 - FIRST REBELLION - A year after Blues goes missing, it seems Dr. Light and Dr. Wily have moved on. They've finally recieved government permission for the design of eight new Robot Masters. Two are individual models like Blues, and the other six were meant as prototypes for designs meant to be mass-produced and sold for widespread use. These were given names from mythology that might have become model/series names if the designs had ever gone to mass production.

In order of activation:
DRN001 - Rock - Repairs/Lab Assistant
DRN002 - Roll - Housekeeper/Lab Assistant
DRN003 - Achilles (Cutman) - Timber-felling/Forestry Management
DRN004 - Heracles (Gutsman) - Wilderness Reclamation
DRN005 - Orpheus (Iceman) - Antartic Exploration
DRN006 - Hephestas (Bombman) - Ground Disruption/Demolitions
DRN007 - Helios (Fireman) - Waste Disposal/Incineration
DRN008 - Icarus (Elecman) - Energy Storage/Control

Several companies show interest in the Lightech Industrial Robot Master designs, while the two doctors and their creations spend the summer at home in Neo-Tokyo, Japan. This would also be when permission is given for further designs, and coding and design work begun for Oilman and Timeman.

Unfortunately, the damage from the teleporter accident catches up with Dr. Wily. He steals the Six Industrial Prototypes, and the unfinished designs and coding for Oil and Time, and vanishes with them. Rock and Roll escape, having already broken Second Law and thus not compelled to accompany Dr. Wily, whom they thought was acting strangely.

Soon afterwards, the events the media would call a 'Robot Rebellion' (and later the 'First Robot Rebellion') began.

The six prototype Robot Masters, now going by the names for which they would later be more commonly known, each take over a strategic location around the world, acting on orders from Dr. Wily, who then demanded the world surrender to him. Locations listed as follows:

Gutsman's Domain--Mining center in Nokaneng, Africa
Fireman's Domain--Waste disposal center in New Denver, North America
Cutman's Domain--Treeborg supply and processing plant in Sydney, Australia
Iceman's Domain--Water purification center in New Shirewick, Antarctica
Bombman's Domain--Mining center in Chengdu, New China, Asia
Elecman’s Domain--World Power Plant in Keliva, Croatia, Central Europe

Rock Light volunteers to be upgraded with armor, a plasma-shooting arm cannon and a variable weapons system that allowed him to copy and imitate the signature attacks of other Robot Masters, in order to deal with the threat posed by his younger siblings. Not wanting his name to be associated with violence, he adopts a name that Roll comes up with - Megaman

As 'Megaman' begins to attack the locations held by the 'Sinister Six' and defeat them, Dr. Wily at first consders increasing their numbers by completing Timeman and Oilman. He abandons that idea quickly in favor of focusing on designs for eight more Robot Masters, meant specifically for combat. These would later be known as Beta Squadron.
