what i'm curious to know is why are you against a war that slays innocent children, just as posted in your entry before, but yet, you're for abortion --- beside the obvious fact that you believe a woman has rights, etc? what about the child? does it not count? What are its rights? beside the whole rape and economical issue(s), there are escapes, exits, other resources and resolutions to abortion and for many whom desire to have children [on their], yet, cannot, and would do anything except let a beautiful child go to waste, but, rather love and embrace a child. abortion, in my personal opinion, is no different from dropping bombs in iraq. murder is murder, not matter what faith you believe in, or what political position you take. in fact, The American Heritage Dictionary defines abortion as, "The arrest of an action or process before its completion." and when comparing the definition of murder, "To kill brutally or inhumanly. To put an end to; destroy," they are parallel to each other. i guess i was thrown off about in logic and reason with your previous entry about how the war needed to stop with a posting of a child wounded or dead. but with this post, the logic doesn't add up if someone can say, "Stop the war, live by peace. But, the innocent [children], kill them, if their mother decides." i don't see the difference between a man who straps bombs on his chest and enters a community, or place, and ignites that bomb, and/or a president who orders war in the middle east that orders an operation that involves lives at stake, any different from a woman who decides to [in a sense] play God or any other supreme authority figure and stop a precious breath of a child. if president Bush is a dictator, and an idiot [while we're at it], to take lives, what does that make a mother who chooses abortion? both, fully know and are aware of what their actions result in. like i mentioned earlier, this comment isn't any way or form of attack, but a desire to understand the reasoning in this. i hope we can keep these discussion, if one at all, in good taste and discussed like young mature adults without resorting to anything lower. this isn't a religious issue, a political issue, but more of a logical one. for, what good comes as a result of abortion? for me, the logic is thrown out of the window with these two posts of yours. 1 + 1 doesn't = 1. a woman [1] who started out with a baby [1], but decides to abort ends back up at 1. so, i guess, i'm curious as to whether you believe abortion is murder? if you do, what justifies the abortion? does 6 year old have more of a reason to NOT be murdered/aborted/deceased than 6 month old? because again, according to the dictionary. if you don't believe abortion is murder, again, what are the justifications for it? how are they different from the war that you protest right, where people are "aborted" almost, if not, every single day. because by aborting you put an end to something that had a start to begin with. i hope my words sit well with you and that you read this knowing that i don't mean anything spiteful toward you. but, i'm definitely curious.
okay I know this is an issue that no one will ever agree on. and I know that we see things a lot of things in different views because of our religious beliefs. But anyway, I'm not against the war because it kills innocent children, I'm against it because we are in a land that has nothing to do with us,Saddam Hussein wasn't the one who is to blame for the events that happened on 9/11. Even if he was threatening the United States, the United States never found anything in Iraq to prove it. What I'm trying to say is that, that innocent little girl died because of what the United States believes is right or wrong, what I hate about the United States and their leadership is that they try to shove their religious and cultural beliefs down every other countries throat. They have a military base in every single country in the world, for what? Their answer is " to make sure everything stays under control" andt thats what I think is bullshit. Thats when I go against the war, its none of our countrys business to enter into Iraq because of the way they ran their government.
and okay, Personally I would never have an abortion. I would never kill my own child. But my argument towards abortion is, a woman has a right to choose what she wants to do to her body and that baby is a part of her body, I'm not saying that killing your baby is a good thing, or the right thing to do, but there are a lot of times where that baby is better off not being born. And even if they were to make abortion illegal, abortions would be done illegaly and will put the womens health at a very high risk, so its better to do it the right way then to do it with a coat hanger. As a woman and a political science major of course I am going to see this issue politically instead of morally. I don't see abortion as murder and if someday I ever have kids, maybe I will see things differently but for now, I don't see abortion as being murder. But this post wasn't to tell everyone on here that I think killing your kids is right, because I dont think its right, but if alito is elected, he is planning on taking a womans reproductive freedom away and thats what I was trying to say in this post. Don't worry I didnt take any of this offensive because I've argued with about everyone about this issue. But we should definitely talk more about other things, you have a good heart and I admire you for standing up for your beliefs, congratulations on your baby
