Haven't done this in a while...

Hello All,

I decided to actually start updating this more then just accidental posts (as the last like 4 were). I guess I'll start with today.

I was chosen by teachers, along with a few other people, to go to the Dodge Poetry Festival, because (cut to side camera, serious face) I am a great artist (back to main camera, regular face). For those that don't know about it...it's pretty much the biggest poetry festival on the CONTINENT. Yea, so needless to say, a lot of people were there. We had a huge selection of poets to hear from, and we had all these free passes to places. It was mostly an outdoor venue with tents, down in Waterloo, where the first Lolapalooza was held.

The first poet I saw was Andrew Motion, England's Poet Laureate. ...Don't exactly know what that means, I just know he' s important. This festival was apparently the first time he had ever been to the US, which I found pretty crazy, considering he's been famous for quite a while. He was British (obviously), and his accent was strong, which reminded me a lot like my mom (who, if you couldnt figure out by that, is British). He lives in Camden, which is only maybe an hour away from where my grandma lives over there. He was an interesting character.

I wanted to buy his collection of poems, but I really didn't wanna shell out the $30 plus to buy it . It would have been easy to steal, as this was a very open venue, with barely any security. This wasn't really the type of setting to do that type of stuff though...it was waay positive. I had a good day. Got a lot of hugs from a lot of random girls with huuuuge boobies. Yea...there were boobs-a-plenty.
I think it was
Unofficial Don't Wear A Bra And Torture Dana By Having Loose Boobs But Not Allowing Him To Touch Them..Day.

Never-the-less, it was awesome. I got a shirt, dark grey, which is actually a color I've been meaning to get, so it's all good. Really hoping to go again. It's every 2 years, so I've got some time. It really opened my eyes to the world of words that surrounds us. I actually wrote a poem on the way to the venue, since it was a long ride on the cheese bus, but...it's not my best work, and I wrote it on a really bumpy path...I don't wanna share it just yet. Maybe when I get back into my poetic flow that's been absent for so long. There's a poetic side to everyone, really. Just a matter of being able to find it, holding on to it, and expressing it freely.

- Peace
