Yes, today I graduated. I'm sure the ceremony was lovely and full of inspiring speeches. And I'm sure being in a clingy synthetic gown in the 9000% humidity and a stuffy uncomfortable "good clothes" outfit would have been a wonderful experience. I'm also sure that I didn't want to go and so I didn't. Oh well. If I get my masters/PhD I'll think about doing the stage thing. Maybe.
The party is tomorrow and it has gone from an expected 40 or so people to around 25. Yeah I have no friends, what of it? I do have a bunch of food I've been cooking, the leftovers of which shall feed me for a week or more if I do it right. A bunch of my friends (that I talk to mostly online) live in places that make it impossible for them to come and I've stopped hearing from a lot of my old friends. So mostly the family and a couple friends eating and chatting, sounds good to me.
As the Shelly put it this is the first time we've been out of school since we were five, that's over fifteen years. Holy crap. I'm going to try to just put my brain in neutral for a bit. Perhaps after everyone leaves tomorrow I shall start on my grad school nonsense and maybe think about my future, but for now I'm going to go make cookies. Mmmm, cookies.
