Spending money like mad. It seems to be a pattern that I will save up a bankroll of ~10k and then decide to go traveling and buy a pickup truck and hundreds of dollars of tools (like in 2006) or like now, spending $600 on a digital camera (goodbye Nikon N90 SLR!) and bicycling clothes and new road wheels and tires and panniers and...oh goodness.
And after having biked 2-5 days a week for work the past two years, I am only now that I have quit, considering getting properly waterproof footwear. What gives? (

I am torn between the thought of doing really soul-nurturing volunteer work this fall once I reach the Pacific, or working on the Bainbridge Farms and actually being able to refill my bank account. I think I should push myself towards soul-nurturing work, but, y'know, that means making smart choices.
