Ecstasy Man, You Can Feel It In The Air

Hey everyone,

Well, last night was To The Death's second performance ever and I might I add, that it was amazing; better than I ever expected! So, yesterday I woke up at say 7:00 because I was so anxious. I played a little Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas until about 10:00. I took a shower and got dressed and picked up Tyler Rossman, vocalist of Modus Operandi. We went to Modus Operandi's band practice before the show, which was also my last band practice with them. We went through all the songs and just jammed a bit then we all went to Weinerschnitzel for some lunch. I then went to To The Death's headquarters, a.k.a. the studio, and we proceeded to take down the equipment for the show. We had new member of the TTD Crew, Addison, come and help us with the transportation. I then picked up Chris and Jen and they came back. Then, we (Chris, Jen, Andy, John, Matt, Addison, Kristen, Evan, and I) all caravaned to Brittany's house. We unloaded the equipment and then started to set up. I left to go pick up the bass player for the first band, Corey Sylvester, as well as DZ and Matt Smith and we all went back to house. So, we all sat up and finally the other bands begun to arrive. The first band, which consisted of former Silent Scorn/Modus Operandi drummer Alex Perez, former To The Death guitarist John Marquardt, and Corey Sylvester, took the stage. They didn't have a singer so they had Modus Operandi guitarist Nick Rynders, Corey's brother Chris Sylvester, as well as To The Death drummer Matt Chappell, up their singing and screaming. They played their two songs and then Modus Operandi took the stage. It was my first and last performance with Modus Operandi and it went quite well. At the end of the set, Tyler realized he skipped a chorus in the last song but oh well, it went over quite good. Then, the almighty To The Death took the stage. We went into our first song, "Pretenders", and that went off with out a hitch. We then busted into the second song, "My Hated Fear", and my strap broke halfway through and I had to play and rock without a strap but hey, I did it! We then went into "Universal Clone" and I must say, that's one of our best songs! We then stopped the show and sang Brittany "Happy Birthday". After that, we went into our newest song and through the second verse, I slapped my bass and the pick-up went in but during the breakdown part where Evan does the intro, I picked it out. The show went amazingly!

To The Death wants to thank everyone that came out including my girlfriend Desiree, my brother Phil, my buddy Talia who had the first ever To The Death injury, the awesome Claire, Bianca, Jen, Chris, Misha, Rene, Robby, Megan, former To The Death guitarist Patrick Rowe, current To The Death guitarist Travis Harrell; Jimmy, Nick, Tyler, and Alex from Modus Operandi; John M. and Corey from the first band, and everyone else who was there! It was awesome!

We are also excited to say we are confirmed for a show at Unity Skateshop on January 28th, 2005, with a band called Nightmares from Sacramento! This is our chance to kick in the new year!
