A quick idea or two
Thanks to some new ideas from Paul, I've decided to restablish my plans for a going away party. I'm thinking Friday, April 30 is the best possible date. Gives me the most amount of time to plan, and this way I can notify people far in advance before they make alternative plans for that night. Simply put, I just want to have one last amazingly awesome and special night in Boca with people I've known throughout my life in this town.
Instead of renting out the club house at Boca Winds and spending a crapload of money on it, like was previously suggested, there are now a few other options:
1) Throwing a party at Wackadoos at FAU. Since the original idea was to have a few bands play, it would work well there since they have the stage and all. However, the place is not all that intimate. But it would be FREE.
2) Having it at the beach at night. Personally, I think this option could be incredibly awesome - using the pavilion at the top of the beach at the end of Palmetto. The bands could fit nicely in there...assuming there is some sort of power outlet around that could be used. Additionally, a TV could be set up for showing a movie. Then again, maybe these ideas are just TOO wild for Boca Raton. Potential problems include: needing to get permission from the county to use that pavilion for a party/for bands to play/to "use their power outlets" - even though it's supposedly "public". Also, the law dictates that you have to leave the area by 11, so a long, drawn-out party would not work there, or would have to be moved by that point. Then again, I'd be moving the next day or two, so late, crazy party nights are not a good idea.
Anyone that can lend a hand or idea would be greatly appreciated. This needs to be put together fast, yet carefully. For the most part the party, in whatever form, will be an open-invite sort of thing. Anyone who knows me, whether in a negative or positive way, will be welcome to come. In advance, I reserve the right to personally disgrace (in the method of my choosing) anyone who is anything less than cordial to me that night, cause you know what?, I'm sick and tired of people giving me shit and ganging up on me. It's going to be MY night for once. Try that on for size you hateful personalities!
