Damn this hurricane is fucking slow.  Wind and rain.  They say flooding...I do see a few puddles the size of my foot.  We still have power, internet, phone, but I guess some other people aren't as lucky.  Quite boring during a hurricane - I might start working on hw just to pass the time.

Oh yeah, and then Ivan is coming to fuck our shit up also, ( Read more... )

Is there any place to find music that's NOT on the mainstream radio -other than by downloading it off of psp software like SoulSeek, DC, Limewire ?

As for the not liking the group because it's kinda become too popular, yet still really liking it and how just now people are realizing how great it is - I've kinda gone through that - only not with music - but with like movies and what not. For some reason things seem more "special" when they're not over popularized and loved by "everyone"! Like there's a VERY popular anime series called Naruto - that I use to think was decent - but then the hords swooped in and were like "OHHHH YEAH - THIS ROCKS!!" - and now everybody loves the show and everyone cosplays (dresses up) as characters from said show, and hence it seems to be wayyyy overdone.

As for the media - the media lies and never tells the whole truth. Politics, for intance are insanely slanted on the news - or so I've heard from everyone (I personally don't like politics at all). Plus the overdramatization of Hurricane Frances! Oyyyy.

P.S. Your friends sound insane (in a good way :P)

indeed, the news overdramatizes everything. "Oh man, look at this huge tornadic storm coming that will produce the most powerful tornadoes in Florida history and destroy life as we know it!"...and then no tornadoes come.

And like you said, whatever your fancy, there's something lost when something that is special to you becomes way over-popularized. Agreed.

As for those two, yeah...they're pretty much an "out of this world experience!"
