So earlier this month I pawned about half of my games into GameCrazy in preparation for the slew of new releases coming out in the next couple of months. There's so many games I honestly can't remember what all is coming out, but between October and November, the list is tremendous and riddled with long-awaited titles. Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, Dead Space, and the list goes on. I actually look forward to playing a fair amount of those, but there's only one I'm waiting patiently for.
Midnight Club: Los Angeles
If you ever played a Midnight Club game... you understand why it's different from nearly every other racer. It pisses on Need for Speed as it passes it by, smokes out Project Gotham as it breaks the circuit barrier, and plows through Burnout with it's customization. You can trick your rides to perfection. The races are at break-neck and breath-taking speeds. The cars handle unlike almost any other game (aside from Burnout) to handle the sheer velocity the game throws in your face. I bought Burnout Paradise earlier this year in anticipation to sedate my hunger for some badass racing. It worked. For a time.
Burnout just gets a bit tiresome. By all means, it's probably the best damn game to come out of EA's loins (unlike it's laboriously plodded car cousin, Need for Speed) and gives you a real sense of speed. The cars, while made up, are fantastic. The variety is also very.. varied. Yes. But when it comes down to it, you feel like you're just playing the game to crash more than to race. The multiplayer also falls flat of getting the gold. The readout of every player in the game on the side of your screen hogs the precious view and consists more of challenges rather than actual races. It was good, but not good enough. It's gone now.
It's a shame. I really wanted to finally unlock the concept Camaro in Burnout Paradise. Yes, the one that was BumbleBee in the Transformers movie. But.. wait.. uh oh.
Sorry Burnout. You just got schooled. Sorry journal, but I'm going to bombard you with a slew of videos showing off just how badass this new game is.
The look, the style, the music. Nothing comes close.
Now if only somebody knew what the fuck the actual release date was other than "October." Every single web site has a different release date for it.
