I got the weirdest call last night.
It was some young kid from the conservative party and it was...well...it went like this
Guy: "As you may know, there has been a move for form an alliance with the NDP, Liberals and the Separatsists, which Canadians did not vote for, great for the democracy we have..."
Me: "Uh, what are you talking about? That's the way our democracy works. That IS our democracy."
Guy: "Oh, I know ma'm. I just said that was a great democracy." (all innocent)
Me: "You were being sarcastic!"
Guy: "No ma'm, I , uh, I was saying...uh, I ..."
Me: "All right, what do you want?"
Guy: "Well, I'm calling to let you know that the reason why they are calling for a coalition is because these other parties have no money and thus can not afford to have another election. The conservative party, on the other hand has the most money in our coffers of any federal party. Which is why it is so important for us to receive your support at this time."
Me: "Wait, wait. If you have the MOST money, why do you need MORE money? Why should I give you MORE money if you're the richest party? That makes no sense."
Then he stuttered for a while before I felt sorry for him and told him that I support the coalition and I have no idea how they got my number because I have never voted conservative and never plan to (especially if they keep cold-calling people and sarcastically talking about how shitty our democracy is).
WTF?
