i realize that i basically never update anymore, but here's what i've got:
i've got a meeting on friday to work a half day with a new prospective employer. after i work with their design team for a few hours, they will send me to lunch, then welcome me back to discuss an offer. i am terrified that somehow my practical skills won't live up to their expectations, or that i will manage to turn an important person off to me by saying the wrong thing or burping or something.
whether it's now or later, i will miss the times, as my first career job, but right now i feel like it's coming to the end of the line for me here. jill called the department a "sinking ship," and while as an optimist i want to deny it and say that it's merely a lull, i can't see how they are going to fix the numerous problems that hold us back as a team. every day is a constant battle to maintain calm under ridiculous pressures, and while i love a good fight, i don't want to start hating coming in to work and what it is that i do.
bleh. i am looking forward to getting pixelluxe up and running with marcus and natasha. they are both really talented and driven, and i think that coming in on a massive project like the starting of a design firm at the beginning will be a worthy challenge. i don't know if it is a good thing that i am creating so many ties here, but it feels like everything's in an upswing and i'm just going to go with it.
