Hmmm. You know, it's funny, because a lot of the stuff you've explored here-- and listed as your favorite things about the ship-- they've never really been my cuppa. The whole Oncoming Storm, ancient-and-forever part of him, in the context of his relationship with Rose.

The problem with it, for me, is that... the Doctor puts himself in such a position of power, when you write him like this. On the one hand, he's scared of breaking her, but on the other hand, there's this insatiable thirst to... to dominate. A big reason I'm in the "NO SHAGGING IN THE TARDIS" camp isn't that the canon doesn't support a sexual relationship between the two of them, so much as it-- as you rightly pointed out-- rather upsets their emotional power dynamic. The way the Doctor looks at her, in series 2... that's not hunger. That's *awe.* Bad Wolf forever changes the way he sees her. And Rose Tyler is indomitable.

He'll tell her "you can't" but never "I won't let you." He is the Doctor of "I believe in her" and "How long are you going to stay with me?" Ten can be very, very scary. But Rose never brought that out in him. She makes him.... well. To be very simple, she makes him happy. And the whole bite/claim/take... thing... (desire would be a good word for it, well done self)... that's so HUMAN. And at this point, that's something the Doctor is not.

Which only tangentially relates to your fic, which I needs must mention is quite sexy and well-written, regardless of my ~thoughts.~

Oh, and nay on "dome of her sex." It makes me think of... Epcot. Or Madison Square Garden. It's the DOME OF SEX. TWO MEN ENTER, ONE MAN LEAVES. /nerd
