Doctor Who Fic Bingo: It's on!

Had your interest piqued by one of the fic bingo challenges (see: kink_bingo, warning, much at that link is very NSFW) but thought it sounded kind of complicated and a lot of work? Hey, I'm frightfully lazy too, I understand.

Wanting something a bit more inwardly-focused on THE BEST FANDOM IN THE WORLD ahem I mean, Doctor Who?

Looking for something to take your mind off of series-finale-shaking-and-crying/hot summer weather/cold winter weather/boring family holidays?

WHO: Anyone who'd like to give a go at writing a 500+ word prompted fic in the Doctor Who fandom. Classic Who, New Who, multi-Era, tie-in media, whatever.

WHAT: Doctor Who Fic Bingo is a ficathon using prompts off a 5x5 bingo card. Instead of writing five fics, one for each square, you'll write one fic that incorporates all the prompts in the line that will give you a bingo. The prompts are an assortment of characters, species, objects, random words, fic genres and tropes. Each card will be unique.

WHEN: I'm going for a due date of August 31, 2010. Fics may be posted at any point before then (and, to be honest, after as well-I'm not going to be running anyone off my journal on a rail for being late). I'll keep sign-ups open for the duration. It's no big deal to generate a new card, so if someone really wants to sign up on August 29, more power to them.

WHERE: Completed fics may be posted anywhere you normally post your fic, but please link to it from the ficathon sticky post, so all the links will be in one central location. You may also post your card, once you receive it, on your journal, if you want. But you don't have to. When you post your fic, however, please link to your card so we can all marvel at your ingenuity in the face of such a devilish conundrum.

HOW: Once you sign up with your particulars, you will be issued a bingo card.

• You may choose to be given a New-Who-Only card, a Classic-Who-Only card, or an All-Eras card. 
• Bingo may be achieved by any row of 5 adjacent squares (including diagonals) or four-corners-plus-centre.
• Minimum limit on your fic is 500 words, but there's no upper-limit.
• Any rating is permitted (there are no ratings, or rating-dependent activities, listed in the prompts). Likewise, shipfic or genfic is not a listed prompt: that's your choice.
• All of the items/characters in your chosen bingo row do have to figure prominently in your fic, but they do not necessarily have to show up in-person in it.
• Items/characters in your chosen bingo row are not mutually exclusive with anyone/thing else you want to have appear in your fic.
• The Doctor himself is not a listed character-include him or don't in your fic, and if you do include him, you pick the incarnation(s).
• Please no character-bashing, warn for standard squicks and triggers, use standard fic heading format when posting your link to the completed fic.
• Feel free to ask questions about the rules in the comments, but once a bingo card is issued, it's up to you to interpret the items on it, in whatever way makes sense to you.
