What I've Been Up To...
Hello faithful readers! I just wanted to blow through and say hello and pimp a couple things, because I know I've been quite silent lately.
- I've created a new community: who_like_giants is a community for minor and original characters in the Whoniverse. I've got a deep fondness for writing both (and I know there are others with a similar affliction), and I got sick of having nowhere specialised to cross-post to that was specifically for that sort of fic. If it sounds like a comm you'd be interested in joining, come on over and take a look at the userinfo.
- In a similar vein, who_like_giants is now hosting a minor and original character ficathon. You don't have to be a member of the comm to play, and sign-ups are open until 31 January. If you think you might be interested, read about it here.
- I also inherited the mod-ship of r_t_davies , a Russell T Davies community. I've been laying low about that as he's a bit of a lightning rod right now (understatement of the century) and I don't really relish trying to deal with trolling. Also, he's not doing much right now, so it's quiet over there. But, if you're generally somewhat fond of RTD's work and fancy joining, please do. And please read the rules in the userinfo first.
- Yes, I'm still planning on picspamming/meta-ing Act IV of Hamlet. I've got about half the caps taken, so it'll happen eventually.
- And I've got three projects that I want to let the eventual recipients know I've still got on my radar: A header for sensiblecat, a header for spikewriter and a fic for principia_coh. The latter two bid on me at help_haiti and I'd like to thank them for their generosity. :D
- Finally, this has nothing to do with me, but is definitely Relevant to the Interests of many of you good folks: This is a gorgeous desktop background and PC screensaver (the creator assures that a Mac version is on its way) that turns your computer into the TARDIS scanner. It's fantastic. The YouTube video shows what the screensaver looks like, and then the links to download are at the end. And on a related note, the Gallifreyan Photoshop brushes that disappeared off of DeviantArt due to copyright issues (not for the writing but for other images that were included) are back!
