This weekend has been an interesting one.  Little Danny X suprised us all.  Friday morning I got up at about 5:45 as usuall to play basketball before work.  Chloe was up too(not usuall) tinkering around the house and talking about the small contractions she was feeling.  She asked me to keep my phone near by in case it became more serious.  I of course agreed, but didn't think anything was going to happen.   After we where done with b-ball at about 8 or so i get a call from chloe while on the way back to mom and pop's place.  It was my sweet wife telling me I had better get home or bad things where going to happen and asking why on earth I wasn't answering my phone.  I had it in the gym, but didn't hear it.  So I ran home and chloe and she was having pretty regular and strong contractions.  For some reason,  it just didn't register in my dumb brain that we might need to hurry.  Sweet miette was very patient with me as I took my time getting showered, ready, and get all that we needed for the hospital together and in the car.  As we were just about leaving I could definitly start to see her patient slipping.  We dropped the "Young Prince" of at grandma's and headed for the hospital about 25 minutes away.  Chloe then asked me in a voice that is normally used in polite "How's the weather?" conversation, "Could you um, drive as fast as you can?"  It really took me of guard.  I tought it best to follow her advice and began to fly down the freeway at 90 mph.  I did get the car up to 100, but the car started shaking, and I thought it won't matter how fast we are going if we blow up before we get there.  Finally we got to the Intermountain center in Murray and got Chloe checked in.  They checked her when we arrived and since she was already a "6" we got to stay.  We got to the room at about 10:00 in the morning.  Once we got in the room Chloe was a real trooper.  She really worked on trying to stay relaxed.  Everything seemed to be going really well and before we new it she was at a "9 1/2", so the nurse called the mid-wife in.  They got everything set up and we all tried to help Miette through the final bit, but it seemed to stall.  Chloe was fighting through contraction after contraction, but it wasn't going anywhere.  Chloe asked to go to the bathroom and the mid-wife agreed as long as it was only pee and no bowel movements.  The mid-wife also decided to break her water while she was over the toilet.  And so she did.  Apparently that was the last straw to breaking wide the flood gates of Xavier's birth.  Once her water broke,  Chloe screamed, latched one arm onto the fall bar and began climbing the toilet.  The mid-wife kept trying to tell Miette to wait and not push.  It only took a split second and we all knew she wasn't listening to us.  I barely had enough time to get from 10 ft outside the bathroom to her side before the little guy was shotgunned out into the waiting mid-wife's arms.  We were all so suprised how fast everything happened.  In the end everything went wonderfully.  Chloe was doing great,  Danny X was doing great,  I was doing great ( :  The little guy came at about 12:16, weighing 7 lbs 7 ozs and 20 inches long.  It was quite an interesting ride being so different from Max's birth.  We had to practically force that kid out 2 weeks late, and little Danny just flew out a week early.  We are finally all home and happy to be so.  I am so grateful to God for my sweet wife and my two wonderful boys.
