Hi livejournal, it's been a while, hasn't it?
Well, I was laid off from an awesome job two months ago and I've been unemployed since then. I've been super stressed over this since it seems nearly impossible to find a part-time job that will work around my school schedule. So right now I'm concentrating on jewelry and getting that going. A catalog is in the works and I'm buying an iMac and laser printer this week.
Matthew was laid off a month after I was, but he's working at Ray Brandt Toyota in Kenner as a car salesman. He seems to like his job, but the idea of a commission-only job really scares me.
I'm going to Washington D.C. in August with Delta Sigma Pi for a week-long conference. This should be fun. I've been looking forward to this in order to keep myself from being even more frazzled and frustrated with my current employment status. I'm also going to use this as a business opportunity and I'm bringing a sample case with some of my jewelry to try to get my work into a shop or two in D.C., in addition to making DSP jewelry to sell at the event :)
So, despite everything that's been going on, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about things. Trying to move forward instead of getting stuck. Right now, I'm just really grateful for my friends, especially the Deltasigs, for being extremely awesome and supporting me.
