Petrol is so like overrated
Surprise surprise.. I ran out of petrol on the way home yesterday. I just never seem to learn my lesson. I mean I could just say it wasn't my fault as there were no petrol stations on my side of the road on the way home (which there wasn't) but I should have got it on the way there that morning as I was driving on empty.
Plus this time.. because I don't have a mobile phone I had to walk to the closest payphone, which luckily wasn't that far. Though I had just bought some shoes and realised the hard way they weren;t so great after all and left me with some blisters :(
THEN I get to the f*king phone and someone was on it.. fine... fair enough. She said she would only be a minute. Cool... I'll be patient. I mean I don't even know if Rhett will be home to help me and I am really worrying about it.
I wait for what seems like ages, then I get fed up and walk around the rest of the shops to find one. None. I was SO ANGRY at that woman! So I went back and she didn't acknowledge me. ANd I knew she could very well turn around and abuse me if I asked how long she will be.. so I was going to offer to pay for her phone call so she could ring them back at no extra cost.
I confront her and she just so apologetic.. but I am thinking if she was this nice.. why couldn't she say something to me before this? Then on the phone she was like "this poor poor lady has been waiting here for ages and I really got to let her use it, I don't have any more money to call.. but just know that I love you etc etc etc" Her voice was getting quivery and sounded close to tears and boy am I feeling bad right about now.
She gets off and I offer her the 50c and she is like no no no it's fine.. but I could tell she wanted it. She was still apologising and telling me how she only had money for one phone call to her kids and she had waited all day to talk to them. Then she blurts out all this stuff and started crying. She definitely sounded like she was having a rough time. I gave her the 50c and she was like are you sure???? are you sure you are sure??... and then was like "Thank you SO much". It is amazing how much someone can appreciate just 50c. Rhett was home he came down to pick me up getting petrol on the way. I go shopping and get out just in time to see Rhett :D It wasn't so bad after all :D
