razorlight

i went to see razorlight yesterday.
oh my god.
they were actually ridiculous.
the bassist did a 'Busted' jump.
on stage they had a few lamps just scattered around, you know, in a rock and roll manner, a coat hanger with a coat untidily slung on it.
they had a countdown to when they came on stage.
the drummer is the only one that actaully can play his instrument well enough to be in a band imo, specially in a band that's getting as much attention as razorlight.
i stayed near the front for about 2 songs, but i really just couldn't bring myself to jump around, because i was too tired and because the music just wasn't good. so i went to the bar and spent the gig there, amongst the middle aged people. i had a really good view though, and i was leaning against a barrier, so it was ok. it meant i could completly see the twatiness of them, specially the borrell and the bassist, which was probably why i found the gig so bad.
johnny borrel kept on talking in between songs, IN TIME TO THE DRUMS, in an american accent, saying the twatiest things, like "once, i had this girl, and she was just obsessive man, she was just too fucking obsessive. it was a big problem, the biggest fucking problem you could have in you life man, the biggest fucking problem. she just kept calling me thousands of times a day, you know. (...)"
razorlight are just such a pop band, and there's nothing wrong with that usually, it's the fact that they're trying so hard to be a rock band and would probably be offended if they were classified as pop.
i'm not saying they're really bad and no one should listen to them. i'm saying they're very, very overrated and they just aren't what they try so hard to be, simply because they try too hard.
i can understand why people like them, i just can't understand why they have so much credibility as a rock band.
(ruby, don't be offended/annoyed, this is just my opinion)
