This coming Thursday April 3 and Friday April 4 I will be competing in the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association competitions (otherwise known as TIPA). This year is just happens to be hosted at, you guessed it, Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
I compete in Sports Writing, which only takes place on Friday night from 5 P.M. until Midnight. The best I can guess is they will be sitting us down at a home sporting event, conduct our interviews at a mock press-conference, had us the stat sheets and PR packets, and then have us write a deadline (Midnight) article.
This means that I'll probably be covering the baseball game against Kansas State University at Olsen field. I know a handful of you are athletes, another die-hard sports fans, and the rest of you Aggies bleed maroon like the rest (/smile) so I hope if that's the case I can see some of you there.
That's neither here nor there. My main point is this: I have nothing to do during Thursday's competition set. Most of my colleagues, coworkers and cohorts will be occupied otherwise with their respective events. But I remember B/CS, and as long as nothing has changed Thursday is still party night.
I want/need something to do all day Thursday. Not that I don't love drinking with my coworkers, but I haven't seen most of you in upwards of two years (or more). I'd love to see everyone again. I think it would be a blast.
If you're interested, let me know. I know people have classes and shit, but there's a good chance I'll be visiting people on-campus all day, so if you have time between classes I can swing by too. Just let me know.
my new number is 956.367.0093
and new email is David.A.Lucio@gmail.com
Let me know so I can plan accordingly! See ya'll soon! WHOOOOOP!
