...I didn't want to be in the class anyway.
I really didn't, and so now I'm at 12 hours.
I'd better do DAMN well this semester...
Oh, yeah, just so you people know what the hell i'm reffering to, I dropped calculus. It's gonna get in the way of work, and I'm realizing slowly that, while I grasp concept flawlessly...application of said concept comes at quite a struggle. It's almost as though I'm on permanant "dumb" mode when a calculator is in my hands.
It never used to be the way, but c'est la vie.
Last night, in the midst of failing at life, WoW, and my homework, danny and I heard a random shrill noise outside. I stepped out to learn that there was a bit of a gathering going on across the way, and this girl (whom we've come to be introduced to as Megan) invites us to "come on up and meet the neighbors..." Initially, I was feeling tired, lazy, and really REALLY hoping my energetic ways would kick in for my homework...i.e., I wasn't up for leaving and I was still in whatever I woke up in (and I only wore real clothes because it was fucking cold in my room).
Daniel, on the other hand, was anxious to meet the neighbors. So I showered, and joined them all...danny had already gone up. The synopsis of the evening was that is was interesting to say the least, fun as hell to say the most, and improductive to say the obvious. The people we met were all very interesting. I think i actually retained (surprise for me) a few names. Tory, Megan, Lany, Steve and some guy named christian...who was there for all of 15 minutes...but everyone seemed infatuated by.
...that's about all I remember...and I'm really not sure if I got names right.
what we learned is that hispanics are very warmly welcomed into the group...we made it a point to discuss it often, and I (not so much danny, being engaged and all) have to watch out for the "vultures"...I laughed. Oh yeah...on that note, the discussions regarding me, and all of the weird games and trivias we played, seemed to draw these conclusions:
1) I am emo
2) I am weird
3) ...I look older than danny
4) I found someone to talk G4 with, which is awesome
5) me wanting to marry audrey hepburn is a good thing in girl's eyes
6) I am a square...or straight edge...the committee's still out on that
7) "You aren't a virgin by CHOICE david..." as megan put it
8) I am the only being there that doesn't smoke...
9) i'm not near as interesting as danny
10) when i'm hyper, I seem drunk
11) I can touch four corners of a room, no matter how crowded, in 15 seconds
12) I'm not as messy as I thought. w00t!
13) "you have a great tailor then..." ((long story))
14) if I don't call anyone on them, I won't get them called on me...good things...yes.
15) I was apparantly (despite all logic) a very popular person last night.
in the end of it all, these were all things I knew...well...I didn't think i'd find anyone to talk nerd with for a while, but I did which should prove fun. Right this moment i'm on the phone trying to get our utilities switched over, and then praying to god that my dad doesn't ask about Calculus all semester...if he does, and find out I dropped it...he'd be pissed.
Anyways, dan and I are still shuffling ideas of parties...I'd love everyone to be able to come up to denton on Saturday March 4...we're planning on having ssome sort of party that day/night/next morning. I hope we get some mone between now and then...haha. anyways, take care my preciouses...or something like that. You chil'in's take curr now, ya hurrr me?
Life Is But A Dream,
David Lucio
