"What the hell is this Twitter thing? It sounds annoying." ... But before I went on a reactionary rant, I figured, I ought to know, first, just what it was about. So I went to the website. And what does it say?
"With Twitter, you can stay hyper-connected to your friends and always know what they’re doing. Or, you can stop following them any time. You can even set quiet times on Twitter so you’re not interrupted."
Okay, stop right there. "Hyper-connected"? What am I, thirteen? And ooh, ooh, I can even set *quiet times*! How novel! How retro! How how!
Ridiculous. Obsessive. And, oh yes, ironic: "Twitter ... becomes a modern antidote to information overload." Ha!
