Well, I finally decided to go ahead and sit down and make a post about vacation..
We left about midnight last Saturday on the long ass 10 hour or so drive to Orlando...it really wasn't so bad..we kept stopping at every exit, and about two hours or so in, at I believe an Arby's in Pensacola, my brother got tired of driving so silly Nikki drove for 8 hours! Of course everyone decides to fall asleep on me...so I was stuck listening to the same cd mix on repeat the whole time because for some reason we weren't picking up any decent radio stations..
I woke my sister up when we got to the Florida turnpike because I had no idea where I was going, and when we started talking everyone else started to stir, of course. We finally get to our exit, I think it was International Blvd or something like that, and I stop at a gas station to let my sister take back over because I still had no clue where I was going..then she breaks the news that we can't check in to our hotel until after 4 o_o I was pretty upset because I wanted to sleep!!! She calls and they tell her to head over to the welcome center and they'd see what they could do..So we pull into this resort spa hotel, and we're all amazed that this is the place that we're going to be staying..they even had a man welcome us to the resort as we drove through..my sister went in and we all got out to investigate the pool area, which had a bar and shit and was completely awesome..we were all already making plans for the day!
So my sister comes out and we find out that it's not the right hotel..we were at the other one on the other side of the city...we were all saying we knew it was too good to be true, and then she pulls up to this other hotel, which was like, twice as amazing as the first one, and it was the right one..so of course we were stunned again..it was fabulous, but of course it's no checking in until after 1pm, and it was only 10 so we decided to go grab some breakfast and check out the souveneir shops..A little while later we got checked in, took 19237827282 pics of the frickin awesome view from our hotel..there was a water park right behind us and that thrilled us all to our toesies :D we unpacked and suddenly none of us were sleepy anymore, so we went swimming.
Before I start on anything else, I have to relay the sad thing that happened..I can't remember which day it was, but I was sitting outside one night, drunk from the lovely drinks I had at Monster Cafe at Universal, and smoking with Jake, when these ambulance and firetrucks came pulling up, and we thought for sure we were totally busted, by umm..EMT (we were fucked up geez!) so we put our shit out and stuck it in my cigarette pack and tried to play it cool.. and EMT and firemen rushed past us and into the hotel, which was a relief..but we had no idea what was happening..15 or so minutes later they come rushing back out with this woman on a stretcher, she was a big lady and I initially thought she was pregnant and in labor, until her heart stopped right in front of me..they stopped the stretcher and one of the EMT jumped on the side and started doing manual compressions on her chest, but she died that fast right there, and there wasn't anything they could do to help her.
They took her away with the lights flashing and the siren off. It made me really sad to see that, and I felt really bad that I had witnessed it and knew that she was gone before her family did. Thinking back on it, I believe they shouldn't have stopped wheeling her to the ambulance..and they shouldn't have stopped working on her until they got to the hospital..they should have done chest compressions the whole way in and got a code team on her at the hospital. But what do I know :/ I texted Ashley and told her what had just happened. Her family came out a few minutes later with blankets and shit heading to the hospital..
It rained a little bit that first day because of the stupid tropical storm, but it was ok..The second day we were going to Universal Studios, and it rained some, but it only made it cool and breezy for us, so we were totally ok with that..Universal is absolutely wonderful and I love it..We spent 4 wonderful days there and I still wasnt done! We all kinda hung out together the first day, we went to the Terminator 2 3d thing, which was great, i loved it and actually did it 3 more times during our days there...we hung out at Mels drive in and ate the best burgers and milkshakes ever..then we went on the Mummy, which is fun, but not all that they make it out to be..but I liked it..we also went to the twister thing, which was freakin nifty as hell! I couldn't believe how realistic that was!!! The next few days we all kinda split apart..I had every designated smoking area mapped out of course so it was mostly me and jake walking to smoking areas and finding cool things to do..I went on the Back to the future ride thingie, which kinda made me ill, but it was still fun :D..I did Jaws, loved it! and earthquake was pretty cool too..we also had SO MUCH fun with the woody woodpecker cut outs :X it's like they put them there for us to take fucked up pictures with.
The only thing I rode at Islands of adventure was the incredible hulk..which was pretty cool..i didn't really have as much fun there as I did at the regular universal park...
In Orlando we also went to a place called Wonderworks, which was ok, not everything they say it is in the brochure..but it had some good points..defn not worth 20$s admission..Ripleys Believe it or Not..I'd been dying to go to that one..and it was everything I expected and more...had a blast there and wished I could have stayed longer..everyone else was getting bored, but I wanted to hang out and read all the signs and shit...totally could have done that one longer.
One night, I think it was possibly Friday night..my niece talked me into going on these 2 rides at a park near the hotel...Now let me tell you, if I hadn't been either high or drunk, I wouldn't have done it...never ever ever. But in my state of mind, I figured hell, why not!? My sister took
The last day, Saturday, we went to Disney World..OMG.I won't say too much about Disney because I can't say enough about it.. It was my first time ever going there, and I happily morphed into a 3 year old child..I was SO happy there and I almost embarrassed myself when we were leaving, but I didn't. Disney really is a magical place..and I love it so much. I saw all my favorite characters and hugged them :P I rode a few rides including splash mountain, which is very much worth the hour wait in line..and thunder mountain or something like that, was pretty cool too..I saw Cinderellas coronation, watched the day parade, the night parade, saw the boat parade at night on the ferry ride back to the monorails, and the 10pm fireworks. Nothing I could say could do them justice..it was seriously one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen..and Jiminy Cricket talked through the whole thing and Cinderellas castle was all lit up and changed colors the whole time...*sigh* I can't wait to go back to disney!!
I was going to spare you all the pictures, but I decided to go ahead and post a few, mainly to illustrate the things i said....excuse them for being massive, I don't really feel like resizing them right now, plus it's behind a cut so it shouldn't matter much.
