Well,
This was my first weekend away, without family - ever...OK...since Alex was born. That's crazy!
Lots of good fun.
It was my friend K’s birthday - well, it will be on Tuesday. Three of us celebrated by spending the weekend in Toronto. The third one in our party, T, rents a condo with a view overlooking the water in TO - fabulous.
I drove up on Saturday morning - to be met by a very large latte - my favourite. Oh yes, and some yummy weed.
The condo common space looks like a
"CABAN". Very clean lines and loads of dark wood against white.
Let’s see, what did we do then? We went for a wonderful walk from Queen’s Quay all the way up to Queen Street West - the fashion district. It was good be back in the old stomping ground. Here are our purchases:
Street Vendor
- large, silver, hoop earings
Heel Boy
- One pair of slides
"Le Chateau"- 3 pairs of be-jewelled slippers with a very sleek heel - one chocolate brown pair, one red pair and one black
- 1 pair of flip flops with a two inch wedge heel
- One very flouncy black chemise - lovely décolleté
Shoppers Drug Mart
- Sun glasses
"Annie Thompson"- One pair of pants - Merri Jane’s - she always names her creations
- Two silky tanks
Pizza at Amato’s
- Pollo Loco
- Canadian Deluxe
- Can’t remember the third
- Oraginas all around (yum)
Chevalo
-
"Aveda" "Lip Tint-colour-Spice" Drinks on a patio on King Street then back to the condo where we paraded our treasures, drank vino, smoked and giggled. We then got dolled up and went for a lovely dinner on College Street West - Italian district. No idea of the name of the little bistro but the food was delish. I started with a wild mushroom soup (clear broth) and then had gnocchi in a creamy pesto sauce with a few roma tomatoes and some spicy chicken bits. I love the texture of home made gnocchi - very satisfying.
Back to the Condo for some bad tv and people watching from the 20th floor balcony. We hit the hay about 1:30.
I woke up at 7:15 this morning and walked in to the living room. The sun was streaming in through the floor to ceiling windows in a lovely little alcove. THere were some very inviting cushions so I watched the traffic for a bit and snoozed in the sun until 9:30. I felt like a cat and not a little decadent.
Coffee, BLT's and on the road by noon.
It was good. Thank you to
Balljar.
Now I just have to figure out how to pay for my purchases. Those aren't all my purchases, by the way.
