Life in general

So, life.

:)

Hormones have been a bit up and down of lately causing unnecessary niggles and its been a funny old week. Somethings been quite uncomfortable about it. But things are looking up now.

The weekend was pretty nice and relaxed. Friday night, Scott took us to Byzantium for another meal. I say 'another' in the bestest possible way as we decided that instead of going there Valentine's and Scott having to pay double what he'd first thought, we'd go later in the week when it would be quieter and cheaper. This meant we went to Casa Mexicana on Valentine's and had two meals out in one week :)

It's got a lovely atmosphere in that place, we went upstairs to have our meal and I could see this was a lot more upmarket than restaurants I've been in. The good thing is there, they have a starter menu which includes tasters of many starters which is something I have always wanted to try. So we had six little starters which were most yumsome.
We followed this with Pheasant in blackberry sauce for me and Venison with butternut squash and port for Scotty. Both were pretty heavenly :)
I'd always wanted to try pheasant and as we were in a pretty posh place, it seemed wrong not to ;)

None of the desserts really wet our appetite so we shared cheese and biscuits which was most amusing. I tried the stilton and regretted it as it was FOUL! And we both tried the Camembert and regretted that too. Ewww to anything but tasty norml cheese imo :D

The plan was then to go into town for drinkies but my feet were hurting so much from my ridiculous shoes, that we just went home and had some fun *wink* I wasn't complaining! Thank you babe for a great night out and some great fun in. I felt very posh that night!

Saturday morning we went over to see Scott's mum in hospital. She looked very tired which isn't surprising seeing as she has to be woken up every hour in the night to have blood tests and pressure checks. But she seems to be recovering well from the op which is the main thing.
After the visit me and Scott wondered into the market next door and had a yumsome hotdog. You gotta love burger van hotdogs ;)
We also had a good giggle at the amount of fake burberry crap they appeared to be selling and the fact that every other stall was a pirate dvd stall. I remember the days when markets used to be good!

We watched Stand By me and Solaris this weekend which are both fab films,. I really found Solaris interesting, the atmosphere in it is quite amazing. And I thought George Clooney conveyed emotion for a change. Scott was in quite a delicate state after Tribe of Frog so we fucked off making tea in favour of pizza from Dominos. And i must say I wasn't impressed by Dominos, Pizza Hut is infinitely better :)

First week back to uni went fine last week, it looks like I'm going to really enjoy my health psychology module. Met up with my dance group last week to discuss our final project ideas and we confirmed the idea of going to Spain to do our filming.

Its quite a far out idea but something very original to what has been done before in the dance department. Our plan is to go to Tarifa which is in the southwest and film the local architectual ruins in Baelo Claudia. The ruins are from Roman times and are literally on the beach so the main focus will be on the ruins and the history of how they used to part of the fishing industry.

The idea of the final project is to combine dance and film projection along with architecture again as we did in the last module but this time we have to advance ourselves a little more and it has to be 10 minutes long. This is quite a lot. I had one idea of taking the image of the ruins which are mainly columns, and recreating this in the live space using boards as the columns and projecting the film onto them. Or we might take a more abstract angle on it.

It seems a little weird that I'll be going there for five days to do this when other groups are filming simpler things such as piers and old mansions back in this country but I love the idea of it so fingers crossed it will work out successfully. Flights there are so cheap, in fact the flights and two coaches to Stanstead and back cost £53 in total and we've all agreed to budget the trip as we're all pretty skint for that sort of thing. It will be so good to get some early sun though, Plus it'll be good to really get to know some people from uni. They all seem really nice girls.

Next weekend sees us going to Hardhouse Academy in Brixton. We booked tickets for it ages ago to get them cheap and for the last week or so I've kind of been wishing we hadn't. I love going clubbing in London normally but lately its just been too much of a good thing. I know everyone has to take their breaks from it every now and again and after this one, I'm going to make these trips less frequent. This past month, I haven't gone crazy with the going out. One, because I can't afford it and two I have to make other things priorities and I'm not the best person for seperating clubbing and what goes with it, from general life. The idea is to allow myself just a couple of nights out a month at least until Easter.

Am waiting on exam and coursework results which is most annoying. Apparently its more important for the first and second years to get their results before us *tsk* Yeah because they're really waiting to see how their last year is going! It looks like I won't get them till the 4th March. Gah.

My best wishes go out to all those on my friendslist who had tragedies and crap stuff happening this week. Life will hopefully look better soon xx
