'Or any part of your body, really, we're not fussy where we stick this,' said Fred.
I think this was more or less the moment of the book when I truly realized what hateful little psychos Gred and Forge really are... This line just sums it up for me. Threatening others without almost no provocation with disturbing hints at sexual aggression... Oh, but they`re just merry pranksters - they`re funny and harmless... right?

Only in the way that Jeremy Dahmer was fun and harmless. But they're Gryffindors and Weasleys and they love to fight the good fight, which makes it alright... right?

According to the values of the books, it gives them basically the right to behave like any proper junior Death Eater would - but because they`re fighting for teh Good Side, that`s so very kewl of them and they`re only being loyal to Harry... right?

Only if you believe the side of light can't commit war atrocities themselves. Obviously, their transcendent belief in the goodness of their cause (which villians can never equal, obviously) shield them from ever doing wrong... right?

Isn't there something in GoF about how Aurors (aw, sweet ickle Ron and Harry's dream career!) are allowed to use Unforgiveables on suspects (and they say that these books and their characters are predominantly liberal...I think Bush and Dumbledore could find more common ground than one might imagine.)?
Well, I guess that somehow magically qualifies them as forgiveable, then! Perhaps even counter-hexes! (I love that phrase, I'm going to overuse it to death ;)
