The most depressing thing about reading the Los Angeles Police Department's organizational chart is how much of their matepower is devoted to drugs.
Where's the division for dealing with charismatic out-of-towners selling crappy monorails and other scams with the help of big musical numbers? Where's the division for holding back the marauding yet curvaceous pixie swarms at the borders of our civilization so that society isn't turned literally and figuratively upside-down and inside-out by their capricious whims? Where's the division for investigating rogue anomalies in the space-time continuum and disenchanted malcontents trying to summon spectral deities to reshape the Earth into an eldritch paradise? Where's the division for tamping down on pied pipers, wicked witches, and others who lead careless children to an ironic doom? Where's the division for foiling criminal masterminds who are disaffected by society's mediocrity and crave only the worthiest rivals to solve their brilliant schemes?
