Torchwood: Children of Earth AU community.
There have been lots of fic communities set up recently that are connected to the events of Children of Earth. This, I hope, is one with a difference.
Children of Earth, whether you love it, hate it or think that it was missed opportunity everybody seems to have an opinion on it.
The basic idea of this community, divergentworlds is to see how many different ways that the events of Children of Earth could have played out.
The starting point:
Day one happens as it’s shown on Children of Earth. Clem, Frobisher, Johnson, Rhiannon, Lois, Dr Rupesh, Alice and Steven all exist, and the Hub is destroyed.
After that take it as AU as you want. You can use any point after the end of day one and before the end of day five as your starting point.
What if the bomb ripped open the Rift and parallel worlds started to leak through?
If they’d managed to get in contact with the Doctor or Martha, how would that have changed things?
What if Johnson had her own agenda and didn’t follow Frobisher’s orders?
Or if hearing the strange news reports John Hart heads back to Cardiff because he knows something about the 456 and thinks that there might be something in it for him if he helps?
What if the strange, un-aging girl from Dead Man Walking, a child who can’t be controlled by the 456, holds the key to defeating them?
These are just a few ideas, there are lots more just waiting to explored.
Fanfic, art and vids are all welcome, as are all ratings, genres and pairings. Both new and already posted elsewhere fics/art/vid can be posted.
Other than that be creative, have fun, and remember everybody is entitled to their opinion of Children of Earth, even if that opinion is different to yours.
