A friend of my husband's bruised a couple of his ribs and it was pretty much the same and not to lift anything heavy.

The two of them are SO sweet! I'm a sucker for this sort of story. On the edge of my seat until Sunday!

Aw! Love the hurt/comfort.

A lot of the things he said sounded better there, he thought glumly, wishing he could sound kind and funny like Annie or clever like Hal.

Thank you :) Sorry for taking so long to reply, been busy with relatives visiting and my little boy's 4th birthday. Off to see more relations today, so no internet or laptop until Tuesday night.

A lot of what I write tends to have a hurt/comfort theme, that and happy/hopeful ending. Tom just has so many of those 'oh Tom' moments in the series, doesn't he? It was the one where Hal and Alex when to find him in his tent after the business with Larry that got me writing this fic - well that and reading a comment that somebody had written discussing the episode that where they wondered why Hal called him the best person he'd known, when it had been Leo (and Pearl) who'd kept him from drinking blood and killing for fifty years. I ended up writing a short fic where Tom doesn't just take Hal's 'best man I've every known' and asks him about Leo. And it just got me thinking what he'd do next and this fic was the result.
