The bookstore has been all out of Proust, Balzac, and Voltaire for weeks. I was relying on their archaism and unpopularity to keep them in stock until the last minute, and now I pay dearly for it. I don't suppose Proust is available in PDF format?
A poem, by Octavio Paz:
Brotherhood
Homage to Claudius Ptolemy
I am a man: little do I last
and the night is enormous.
But I look up:
the stars write.
Unknowing I understand:
I too am written,
and at this very moment
someone spells me out.
