Catholocism and a couple of other religions (I don't want to quote incorrectly on the other ones) made the idea that some sins are worse than others popular and it's something that I don't believe to be true. That being said, I'm far from an expert on the Bible or Christianity, but it's to my understanding from what I've read that Jesus never condemned anyone in the Bible for their lifestyle. We all know that Mary was a whore and that David was a murderer and adulterer among other things (yes, before Jesus' time on Earth but the point still stands) but they're some of the most revered characters in the entire book. It's sad when people distort what they read and turn it around for personal gain, wether intentional or not. Maybe SOME of these friends of yours had good intentions, but they should never lose sight of the fact that the Bible teaches you to love your neighbor and accept them as they are.
Sorry for the mini-preach, there's just so many misconceptions about Christianity that piss me off, especially when these misconceptions come from Christians themselves, like thinking they have the right to judge ANYONE for ANYTHING.
