If lost.. return to...

I don't even know where to begin on this story.... it seems our lives are aways full of random weird events.

Back In November we were all sitting around the table at our oldest son Scott's house telling "odd car stories." For example-

MY HUSBAND AND I's STORY: My husband is forever making fun of me as I never pay attention to the year and make of a car. I come out of someplace, see a black car that is close to the shape of our own car and I walk up and wait for him to unlock it. I would guess 60 percent of the time I am standing at the wrong car while he is getting in OUR car several spots over. EXCEPT for the time we went to get a massage.
We were parked directly out front of the place and there weren't many other car's in the lot. When we came out of the place, we both opened the car doors and got in. The minute I sat down I noticed there were a bunch of random items on my seat. My husband keeps a very clean car. I can't even leave a gum wrapper in the door pocket so the fact I sat on something caught my attention right away but then I felt something crinkle at my feet. I knew the sound of the crinkle.. it was that type of wrapping around fresh flowers you pick up at the super market and for a split second I had completely forgotten what was going on under my butt and became excited about the flower cellophane. I always HOPE my husband will surprise me with flowers and in that split second I thought he had secrtely snuck out during our massage and bought me flowers. I reached down to get them with a huge smile on my face.

As I am doing this, I can hear my husband trying to re-adjust his seat and start to question why everything had been moved. I brought the empty cellophane up to my eyes in the dark and thought "what the hell?" and turn to look at him. I find him looking at me. "I.... I think someone broke into our car" I announced.
Rich says "And what... threw trash in here?"  We both start looking in the backseat (which was also a mess).
"Maybe," I announce as I start to fish the items out from beneith me and look at them. I hold up a longish piece of paper for him to see.
"And now they are putting uncashed checks on our seats too? Thats just fucking weird!" He replies.
It is at that exact moment we both look over at the car one spot over from the one we are sitting in and realise THAT is our car. It is the exact same model and color. Oddly enough, instead of jumping out of the car quickly, we both hunker down and scan the parkinglot to see if anyone is watching us before we have a short discussing on how quickly we can switch to the right car.

BACK AT SCOTT'S HOUSE: So we share this story and someone else tells us how they lost their car in a mall parking lot and couldn't find it for 2 days. We laugh and all say "I can see that happening during the holidays when the mall is full." I comment on how I always take a photo of where we park our car when we go to concerts as I HATE searching for our car- I want to get in and out of places.

Ironically enough, our son Christian is there for this topic of conversation.
Fast forward to a week ago... Christian got arrested once again and when they released him he was so embarrassed that he didn't want to go home to where he lives with his mom Brianna so he had our son Scott drop him off at his car. He promptly does what Christian does and goes out to get wasted once again. Not wanting to get arrested, he parked his car and walked away.... and the next day he could not remember where he parked his car.

It's been 5 days now of people taking shifts driving down random side streets looking for his car. (A car we just bought him in November). He can't remember what the house looks like he parked in front of, he doesn't know what street it is off of. He thought it was in one city but here on day five he is now thinking he MIGHT have been in a different city all together. It is driving me nuts as I have to ask myself... "WHO MISPLACES A CAR?" and who doesn't call to have a car towed when it has been sitting outside of their house for a week?

Nothing like wasting a bunch of gas looking for a car. As I stated, we just bought him the car and paid for all his classes to re-instate his license, paid for 3 months of car insurance and he goes and misplaces it? Who pays for it should it be towed? I want to be mad but thank goodness at the moment I am still calm and just keep scratching my head thinking "this can only happen to our family."

mr laguna, strange events, christian
