Sunnydale had changed since he'd been gone. The town had literally gone to hell in a hand-basket. Of course, somethings remained the same. The squat buildings failed to over the vantage points that he'd become used to in LA. However, the underground network of tunnels and caverns that made getting around during daylight were a definite perk.

Angel wasn't there to take a walk down memory lane. Getting into town had been a bitch, and he'd only gone to the trouble because half of his people seemed to have landed in this cesspool.

After having lurked for a full day, getting the lay of the land, Angel was ready for some answers. And his opportunity presented suddenly and fortuitously in the form of Dawn Summers - wandering around Helltown all alone.

"Dawn," Angel said, appearing behind the girl, following her with silent measured steps. He kept far enough back so as not to scare her witless. "It's me - Angel. Can we talk for a sec?"

Dawn was on her way to Evadale Neighborhood, one of the few places that still had growing gardens and such. She also had the notion briefly about going back to her one-time home to get a few more abandoned things, but chose not to. She had her backpack over her back, and trash bag in her pocket. She was hopeful that she could find some fruit or veggies or herbs that could help feed the troops over the next few days. Dried pasta was tolerable but it was getting old.

She heard a voice and she jumped, stake in hand.

“Angel? Wh-What are you doing in Sunny hell?” Dawn’s voice was broken slightly by shock and fear.

Angel failed to find much menace in a stake-clutching-Dawn, even if the slayer's little sis had been the recipient of special training. Still, he stayed back, mostly because it would be embarrassing for both of them if Dawn decided to try and stake him, and he had to fend her off.

"Just visiting," he supplied, not eager to go into an in depth accounting of how his son had been stolen, his entire world had fallen apart, being submerged in the depths of the ocean, rescued by his traitorous friend, etc etc.

"Dawn, what's happened here? Is there some place we can go and talk?" Angel wanted to get the girl off the street before real trouble found them.

Dawn looked at the guy who had broken her older sister heart more then once, the man who had personally been in more then one of Dawn's more vigorous lust dreams in the recent years. She looked at the tall vampire who more then 220 years her senior and for a moment wondered what it would be to….She shook her head quickly. Get your act together dawn!!! She yelled at herself.

She looked at Angel and spoke softly, but with a sense of unlined urgently in her voice.
“ Hurry, follow me, if we’re spotted it could be VERY bad news for all of us.” She led him to the one of the abandoned houses in area where she could possibly forge for much needed items while Angel and her talked.

"so you wanted to know what happened to SUnnydale? Willow happened."
