This whole post sounds SO familiar. Well, ok, not the drunkeness, but the loss of identity and poetry. I'm never on here anymore, either, partly because my life holds enough drama without the artificial overload to be found on LJ. I mostly don't let it go because I've had the account for SO long. We were all early adopters, and it feels like letting it go would be letting another piece of me die. There is much about our lives "back then" that I miss and would like back, but there was a lot I was glad to see go, too. The weight of the world is getting awfully tiresome.

I keep my LJ because of "back then" too, it is a kind of history. I like being able to read about things like meeting my wife and your talking about getting married and the like. So much of our history is on these pages and it would be a shame to dispose of it.
