It can make you feel like you're experiencing 2 totally different and contradictory sensations simultaneously. For example it can take a 2 day period and do the whole life flashing before your eyes effect and somehow compress and distill everything into a very quick flashback. At the same time the brain will focus on 1 really tiny specific element and repeat it over and over while somehow still doing the life flashing effect. And all the while you keep telling the brain to focus its attention to the present but it doesn't wanna listen. And yet I'm able to type and function so there is at least some element of my existence in the here and now.
Back in high school I wrote a play called Do We Really Only Use 10% of Our Brain? Based on this babble I would suggest that maybe only 10% is in there here and now but the rest has all this other crap going on making the total percentage much higher. Someone needs to develop a switch that can toggle between the 2. Hell I already have a brain tumor scar, what's 1 more? Obviously (that's right somehow something in this rant is "obvious") you would never want to have the past 100% shut off cause then you'd never know it was there. Same goes for the present when you're looking to escape that. But a severe restriction on what the mind concentrates on, I could so go for that.
