Joss Whedon does Shakespeare. No, really.

So, I was at WonderCon in Anaheim this past weekend (epic weekend, save for the fact that Marvel Comics was AWOL... WTF are you trying to pull, Disney?), and I finally got the lowdown on how Joss Whedon, he of some of the most badass sci-fi/fantasy projects of the last decade, is tackling Shakespeare. Shakespeare! And it's one of my favorites by the Bard, Much Ado About Nothing. Filmed in black and white over two weeks at Whedon's house and featuring many of the usual suspects that have appeared in past Whedon projects, it's a modern adaptation with a very "film noir" (in Joss's words at the WonderCon panel) aesthetic.

It's only in the last month or so that I even learned this movie existed, and I'm still wondering why the hell it took so long for me to find out about it. Because this looks like one seriously fun movie!
