Along with most of the rest of my flist, I saw Stonehenge: Apocalypse with Torri Higginson (oh yeah, and Misha Collins and Peter Wingfield) this weekend. OMG, that movie was soooo bad, yet so very amusing in its badness.
The English accents were atrocious (though in Torri's defense, apparently she only got a phone call that, 'oh yeah, we need you to have an English accent' a week before shooting started. I can just imagine poor Torri's headdesk of doom!), the 'science' was the finest in hokey New Age/end of the world conspiracies (I'm surprised they didn't try to sneak in something about the 2012 Mayan prophecy!), and the special effects made even SGA Season 5 look good. But... it's TORRI!!!!! And damnit, her character and Misha's looked so adorkable together. Except that Jacob died (to save the world from the lunatic cultists!). For that matter, pretty much all the characters died except Kaycee (Torri's character), who pulled a Ripley, and the lunatic cultists in Maine who were arrested after being abandoned by their crackpot leader (played by a devilishly delightful Hill Harper), who ran off and got himself shot. *snorts*
In other news, I'm still trying to steel myself to watch SGU Season 1 to research for any tidbits that might be useful for certain Atlantis fandom projects... Not looking forward to it. Meanwhile, I think I'm finally ready to tackle revising my SGA Big Bang fic from last year, 'Restoration' (whee, Director's Cut!), and now the plot bunnies are nibbling on the novel. We'll see how all that goes.
Now if someone could just send a nice summer storm my way, life would be good...
