America and beyond...
So it struck me that someone might actually want to know what I did in the USA. Basically, we landed in San Fran, and sorta moved around the east coast, between San Fran and LA. We did our VERY FIRST GIG EVER AFTER ONLY A WEEK OF REHEARSALS at the Monterey Jazz festival, in front of a packed house. We got a standing ovation. Hurrah!
So we did four or five more gigs, at different places along the coast, all to empty houses, at most 2 or 3 people. We got standing ovations from them though. =P
We did a recording in L.A. with Bobby Shew, he was just warming up in the soloist booth and he was incredible. Oh man oh man, to be able to be so lyrical and harmonic without any accompaniment.
So it was great. We get the CDs we recorded in early November I think. I also bought about 34 cds or something. I won't need to buy another one in ages.
