Strangely enough, given my love of all things that flip, slide, rotate, and turn into other things, I think I'd feel most comfortable actually living in the third place. Everything's accessible at once, even if it's crowded; I'm not a great fan of having to go through a whole routine to access some function or part of a house, and then another routine after I'm finished.
The Lego apartment in particular feels very military; the exposed sink and shower give it an industrial or temp-accommodation feel, and it has an inability to break the place up into multiple social functions unless everyone was *very* good friends - or squadmates. It feels like the kind of place where you need to (a) sweep and scrub it for inspection every morning at 0500, soldier, and (b) heavily schedule any interactions there. You can't really retire from a party to get an early night, or disappear for ten minutes to shower, change clothes, check email etc.
I don't mind a living space which can be partly altered for an occasion, like having guests or travelling or (I guess) throwing a huge party. However, I do want to be able to perform the basics of a daily routine (sleep, eat, cook, ablute, lounge, futz about on the internet, work on a current project) without needing to lug walls and furniture back and forth all the while, and ideally without encountering any semi-public areas.
